What Are PM2.5 and PM10?

Particulate matter is classified by particle diameter. PM2.5 (particles smaller than 2.5 µm) penetrates deep into the lungs and is the primary driver of respiratory health risk indoors. PM10 (particles smaller than 10 µm) includes coarser dust, pollen, and fibres. Both are key indicators of indoor air quality and are regulated in green building standards such as LEED, IGBC, and the WELL Building Standard.
