Modbus RS485 to LoRa Converter — Wireless Bridge for Modbus Devices
The LOMO converts any Modbus RS485 RTU device into a wireless LoRa node. Connect it to an energy meter, flow meter, sensor, or any RS485 device, and the LOMO automatically polls the registers you configure and transmits the data wirelessly over LoRa to your gateway — no cables, no wiring runs to the control room.
How It Works
Wire the LOMO to your Modbus RS485 device. Configure which registers to poll and at what interval. The LOMO polls automatically and transmits the readings to the nearest Ahoy LoRa gateway, which forwards data to your cloud platform.
Features
- Automatic Modbus register polling — no host computer needed at the device end
- Multi-register polling — read multiple parameters from one device per cycle
- Compatible with any standard Modbus RTU RS485 device
- Pairs with Ahoy LoRa gateways (LOFI, GIN14L2G, GLCRTU4G)
Use Cases
- Energy meters — wirelessly backhaul kWh, voltage, current readings from remote distribution boards
- Flow meters — bring water or gas meter data to the cloud without cable runs
- Industrial sensors — any RS485 device in a location too difficult or expensive to wire
- Building automation — monitor Modbus HVAC units, VFDs, and PLCs remotely
