About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SMT Machine Operator and Production Technician to run small-batch PCB assembly operations at our Gurgaon facility. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with benchtop pick-and-place machines — particularly CHARMHIGH or similar platforms — along with solder paste application equipment and reflow ovens. This is a core production role requiring both machine operation skills and the ability to handle manual through-hole soldering.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate benchtop SMT pick-and-place machines (CHARMHIGH or equivalent) for small-batch PCB assembly runs
Apply solder paste using stencil printers or paste dispensing machines; ensure correct paste volume, alignment, and consistency
Load PCB assembly programs, place component reels/trays, and verify correct placement before and during runs
Operate reflow ovens; set and monitor temperature profiles appropriate for each assembly
Perform manual through-hole component insertion and soldering for mixed-technology boards
Carry out first-article inspection and in-process quality checks; identify and correct placement or solder defects
Manage component inventory using computer software — maintain accurate stock levels, track usage, and flag reorder requirements
Organise and label component reels, trays, and storage to ensure traceability and prevent mix-ups
Maintain machine cleanliness, carry out basic preventive maintenance, and report faults promptly
Follow ESD protocols, safe handling procedures, and production documentation practices

Required Qualifications / Skills

2–5 years of hands-on experience in SMT production, with demonstrable machine operation skills
Direct experience with CHARMHIGH benchtop pick-and-place machines is strongly preferred; experience with other benchtop platforms (Neoden, Autotronik, etc.) is acceptable
Proficiency with solder paste application — manual stencil printing or semi-automatic paste printers
Working knowledge of reflow oven operation, including profile selection and basic troubleshooting
Competence in manual through-hole soldering and mixed-assembly boards
Ability to read PCB assembly drawings, BOMs, and Gerber-based placement files
ITI / Diploma in Electronics Engineering or equivalent vocational qualification; equivalent practical experience also considered

HIGHLY DESIRED
Proficiency with computer-based inventory management software (e.g. Excel, dedicated ERP/IMS tools) to maintain live component stock status, track consumption per job, and generate low-stock alerts
Experience managing the complete SMT production cycle end-to-end: paste print → pick-and-place → reflow → inspection → rework
Familiarity with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment operation or basic visual inspection under magnification.
Experience in using ICT or test jigs
