The SO2-4G-101 is an industrial sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas sensor with dual connectivity — WiFi and 4G. It continuously monitors SO2 concentration in the air, triggers a local beeper alarm when levels exceed the configured threshold, and simultaneously reports to a cloud dashboard. Designed for industrial environments where SO2 exposure poses a health or compliance risk.

Why SO2 Monitoring Matters

Sulfur dioxide is a colorless, toxic gas produced by burning sulphur-containing fuels and as a byproduct of many industrial chemical processes. At low concentrations it irritates the respiratory tract; at higher concentrations it is life-threatening. Regulatory limits (OSHA, Factory Act) require SO2 monitoring in areas where exposure is possible — and cloud-connected continuous monitoring provides the audit trail to prove compliance.

Two-Layer Alert System

• Local beeper alarm — on-device audible alert triggers immediately when SO2 crosses the threshold. Workers in the vicinity are warned without waiting for a phone notification or a control room response.
• Cloud dashboard alert — simultaneous remote alert to safety officers and managers via the dashboard and app. Full event log with timestamp, concentration level, and duration.

WiFi + 4G Dual Connectivity

The 4G modem provides connectivity in locations where plant WiFi is unavailable or unreliable — outdoor chemical storage areas, loading bays, remote tank farms. When both are available, 4G acts as an automatic failover if WiFi drops, ensuring the monitoring link to the dashboard is never broken during a gas event.
